Women's Spring Bible Study: All Things New
April 6th, 2017
The city of ancient Corinth was much like our own modern-day cities: a melting pot of electrifying cultural experiences to be had, along with the myriad pitfalls of spiritual depravity. Still, Paul wrote to the Church of God in Corinth – meaning God’s Church is meant to thrive in any city and every circumstance in which we find ourselves. Paul’s letter is as timely as ever.
Over 8 sessions, Kelly Minter will lead you through the Letter of 2 Corinthians, exploring the anchoring truths of bearing treasures in jars of clay, meeting Christ through a pressing thorn, opening wide your heart in the midst of hurtful relationships, and what it means to embrace the lost and lonely as ministers of the new covenant. Each of us has a message to proclaim and live by: Because of Jesus the old has gone, the new has come.
Thursdays @ 9:30 am in the South Auditorium
Thursdays @ 6:30 pm in the En Gedi modular
8 sessions, running April 6 through May 25.

If you’ve already been our guest at one of our Sunday services, your next step in getting connected at Morning Star is coming to our Connect event.
No matter who you are, connecting at a larger church can be confusing or even intimidating. But we at Morning Star believe that there is nothing more important than being connected to Jesus and to His church. That’s why we created our Connect event—so people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures can come and find it easy to connect and be a part of God’s family at Morning Star.
At Connect, you’ll have the opportunity to meet other people new to Morning Star and some church staff, as well as learn more about who we are as a church, what we are about, and where you fit into God’s plan here and around the world. We do this in a relaxed atmosphere, with some great food and fun conversation. So take the next step to connect and sign up for the next Connect event. We look forward to seeing you there!
Women's Retreat 2017
April 28th - April 30th, 2017
Women of Morning Star! Are you ready for a weekend getaway? Women’s Retreat is coming up, and you don’t want to miss this one! On April 28-30, we’re headed back to the Agate Beach Inn in Newport. “Living Loved & Loving Well” is our theme for 2017, and our speaker is Jill Nelson, former Morning Star staff member and currently the Children’s Ministry Director at The Grove Church in Albany. Jill will challenge us to understand and believe in the depth of our souls that we are loved unconditionally by God, and discover how that understanding can transform every other relationship in our lives. We will learn, play, laugh, eat, sleep and worship together, with the gorgeous Pacific Ocean as our backdrop.
We’ll see you at the beach!
Early-bird deadline is March 26, balances and final registrations due no later than April 16.
Prices are per person.

Jesus changes everything, and He changes us from the inside out. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change, a public statement that we love Jesus and want to follow Him all our days. Sunday, May 7, in all three services, people are taking that step of obedience. Come and celebrate with them what God is doing in their lives!
If you love Jesus and want to follow Him in baptism, register here!
We ask that you be 10 or older.
We ask all to come to one of the Baptism Preparation classes. Classes will be April 23 @ 9 am & 11 am / April 30 @ 6:30 pm in the Jerusalem modular.
I Belong . . .
May 21st - June 11th, 2017
I Belong is an opportunity to dive deeper. Deeper into your relationship with God. Deeper into your knowledge of Him. Deeper into connections and relationships with others. And deeper into the distinctives of Morning Star Community Church.
This event is for all those who have already been through our Connect event at Morning Star, but have yet to really connect through serving and community groups. It is your “step two” to connecting at Morning Star.
We are going to spend 4 Sunday’s together, during the 11 am service in our Bethlehem modular—having lot of fun, engaging in great conversation, eating great food, and diving into this incredible journey of belonging…to God, to a church, and to a community—with a mission.
I Belong will be 11 am-12:30 pm at Morning Star Community Church on Sunday, May 21 and 28, and June 4 and 11.

Young Adult Retreat
August 3rd - August 6th, 2017
This summer, we’re heading to another one of Oregon’s seven wonders . . . the coast! Enter 2nd annual #yampingtrip at Honeyman State Park in Florence, Oregon.
Let’s take a minute to get out of the heat and take a breath of fresh air! There are plenty of ways to unwind. . . two lakes to swim in, kayaks, stand-up paddle-boards, hiking galore (there’s literally a trail called “Hobbit Trail”), sand dunes as far as the eye can see, sand boards, and oh yeah, the beach!
We’ll also take the time to learn about how the things we do every day matter. Our habits, activities, and priorities help shape not only the people that we are, but the people we are becoming. We will take some time to listen to God’s voice, and catch a vision for how He calls His followers to order their lives, do His work, and stay balanced and sane in all of it.
Let’s rediscover what’s most important, together.
